Healthy School Lunches
By the time ten thirty rolls around and I get off the polytech bus, I am STARVING! Jenny and I go to our lunch table, put our bags down and head straight to the lunch line. I usually buy a slice of pizza as my main course, with a water, then I head over to the pasta. The Anti-Pasta they have at Central is sooo delicious. I go sit back down and eat. When i'm finished, I go back up to the lunch line and get fruit in a cup with vanilla yogurt and granola. So I guess you could say that acts as my dessert. I'm a big fan of starch and carbs, but also fruit. I eat any kind of meat, but I don't like fatty peices. I'm a little grossed out by the meat at school though. Having these foods in plain sight would probably change my eating habits. They already have. Freshman-sophomore year all I ate for lunch was a bagel and french fries. Now I've graduated to fruits. Our school does a really good job of advertising food. There's two places where they make sandwiches for you, and the fruit and pasta bars practically call your name. If the school offered more delectable got lunches that were healthier and didn't look gross, it would definately change the students eating habits. Because they wouldnt look nasty, they would look appetizing. And as a bonus they would be healthy for you.
