Prophylactic Masectomy

Getting tested to see if i carry the gene would definately be at the top of my to-do list. If i had a family history of the gene, I would absolutely make an appointment. I like to be prepared for things, and I'm not a fan of suprises. I wouldn't want to find out I had the cancer when it was too late, so if I was at risk I would do anything I possibly could to protect myself. If it came down to it, I would opt for the Prophylactic Masectomy to prevent the cancer. If anyone in my family wanted to do the same thing, I would absolutely support them one hundred percent. If I didnt have children already, I would have them, and then go under the knife again to remove my ovaries, because this gene is linked to ovarian cancer. Being prepared is the best thing you can do for yourself, and the ones you love.
